Use textures or coatings (e.g., anodizing, powder coating) to achieve desired aesthetics or functionality.
Avoid deep cavities: Deep cavities require long tools, which may lead to tool vibration or breakage. The depth of the cavity should ideally not exceed 4 times its width.
Fillet design: Internal sharp corners are difficult to machine. It is recommended that the radius of internal fillets be greater than 1/3 of the cavity depth.
Wall thickness: Thin walls are prone to vibration or deformation. The recommended minimum wall thickness is 1 mm for metals and 2 mm for plastics.
Avoid unnecessarily tight tolerances: Tight tolerances increase machining difficulty and milling costs.
Hole depth limitation: It is recommended that the hole depth not exceed 10 times its diameter to minimize chatter, tool deflection, and other issues.
Chamfers: Adding chamfers to hole edges is recommended to reduce burrs and facilitate assembly.
Avoid undercuts: Undercuts require special tools or multi-axis machining, which increases costs.
Slot design: If slots are necessary, ensure their width and depth are suitable for standard tools.
